Is it Possible to Defeat Mewtwo in Pokemon Go?

Everyone else is excited to see Mewtwo’s most awaited entrance into the Pokemon GO game. Some Gen 2 updates were already made and this Pokemon from Gen 1 remains nowhere to be found. Mewtwo was created out of genetic manipulation by men. Thus, it was made to serve as the most powerful Pokemon as desired by men. Many believe that

Mewtwo is the strongest Pokemon in the first generation of Pokemon GO. In fact many websites rank him as #1 in overall ranking. This ranking may cause many appearances of Mewtwo in gym battles. But no Pokemon has an absolute advantage over other Pokemon. Each type of monster has its own set of weaknesses.

Currently, Blissey has the best defensive damage output in the gym meta. Well, Blissey will need to step aside because Confusion/Shadow Ball Mewtwo will have the best defensive output of any Pokemon.

Mewtwo has the tankiness of Tyranitar and Rhydon and more DPS output than Gengar and Alakazam. As a result, almost no Pokemon (currently obtainable) can go toe-to-toe with Mewtwo without dodging.

The possible way to defeat mewtwo:

Choose a Pokemon with Move Types Mewtwo is Weak Against

Mewtwo is a Psychic Pokemon. All Pokemon that combat this type are capable of reducing Mewtwo’s performance from excellent to just ordinary. These types of Pokemon are Bug, Dark and Ghost. Aside from making our subject Pokemon weak, they even ping more damage by up to 25%. So if you got one from either of these types and a CP of at least equal to that of Mewtwo, then winning the battle is just a few moves. 

Gengar is not a good idea here. Houndoom and Scizor struggle, you will basically have to weave your attacks and dodge perfectly. Tyranitar is the best counter in terms of overall DPS and durability, but it is exceedingly difficult to produce. However, all is not lost.
